Henna!

This past weekend we had a henna workshop! Henna tattoos are 100% painless and safe and only last a few weeks. They are rich in oils and herbs that allow the skin to be soothed and absorb the rich henna color. The art of Henna has been used for centuries as a form of "adorning the body". We had a woman named Arianne come in, who is a graphic designer and yoga teacher and uses her art to connect energies with people. Her workshop was awesome...we learned the different styles of Henna, Hindu and Arabic, the basic patterns and techniques of applying a Henna tattoo. I did one on my wrist and my ankle...my little sister was hilarious and did a "third eye" in the middle of her forehead!! I got to take a bottle home and plan on doing Henna tattoos on all my friends! It is fun way to "have a tattoo" without having one. I have seen the coolest and craziest Henna tattoos...people get very creative! There was a big turn out for the workshop too, and I met some interesting new people. That's one thing I love about having the store--I get to meet new people all the time!

We have a lot of events coming up in the next week, it will be busy. It is our one year anniversary! How exciting! Well, I will keep you posted... if you want to come to an event check out our website: fivesisters.biz and maybe we will meet soon!

Namaste!

All I am is Love

I started reading a book that I got from the store called "Say Yes to Love: Giving Birth to a World of Love". It has messages from God that offers a hand to help you grow in Love and light and realize the vastness of our own true Being. I am the kind of person who in a way has a closed heart and I refrain myself from feeling what I feel which creates many negative emotions and tensions in my lifestyle. I have already begun to change this through reading this inspirational book. I am learning to see that there is love in EVERYTHING and when I do this I get this rush of joy throughout my entire body. Sometimes when I am driving I look around or up at the sky and I get a huge smile on my face just thinking about all the love and beauty in the world. My heart has opened up and a cascade of fresh love energy runs through me. Words are inadequate to describe how this book has touched my life, this book describes love in life perfectly. I have let go of anger and forgiven those who have hurt me, which in turn has made me happier person. When you embrace love and positive thoughts it automatically reflects off of you and your energy and when you are this way, it becomes contagious. How can one be bitter or sad around someone who spreads such joy? In times like these with the world issues, the economy and everyday issues it takes a toll on you but I say take it as it is, think positive and all in all you will be happier regardless of the situation. I recommend this book to anyone whether happy or sad, it is enlightening and brings love into your life in ways you may have never experienced before.

"Even the most magnificent vision of us that you can possibly embrace is only a tiny portion of the grand and glorious love that we are."

YOGA DAY!

Today Miami celebrates free yoga day! All over the city different yoga studios are giving free yoga classes and there is a convention being held in North Miami full of yogi's and various related retailers spreading the peace! I am here at the store, where we are having free yoga classes throughout the day as well as a tarot reader and a guided meditation circle later this evening. I already took a yoga class with a new instructor who I absolutely loved! She had such a great balance of the different techniques including the breathing techniques and a little meditation at the end. It was amazing! I feel so at peace! Yoga is so relaxing and I am so happy to be able to practice it! I recommend it to anyone because it is so beneficial to your body, mind and soul. People who have never tried it may laugh at that, but once they do try it and get into it, they see the difference that it makes. Don't go on without trying yoga at least once!

The Circle

We have been hosting a prayer and meditation circle with Dr. Nancy Brown on Wednesday nights, and I started attending a couple weeks ago mainly to watch to store but I sit in and I am glad I do and have continued to attend since. Even though I am the only young woman there, it is nice to see women come together and share their positive energy. Nancy is the leader and first shares some positive thoughts and inspiration and then we go around the circle and say what we want to pray for and then anyone who wishes can say a prayer for you as well (out loud) and then we end with some guided meditation. Like I said before, I am not much of a "feeling sharer" but ever since Elijah, I have wanted to learn to open up to myself and others, which ultimately will have a great outcome for my spirit. So whenever it comes my turn to say what I need to pray for, I never know what to really say. I am not really one who says "I wish I will meet the man of my dreams tomorrow" or "I pray for my problems to go away"...I am more so optimistic and take everything for what it is. Anyways, tonight I decided to pray for calmness and strength for November 1st, the date I set to quit smoking cigarettes. I am so happy I did because Nancy happens to also be the director of an acupuncture school and gave me a free month of smoking treatment through acupuncture! I am excited to stop smoking, it is such an ugly habit and horrible for my health. Also, a women came who was crying and so sad because she couldn't get pregnant and she really wants a baby with her husband. This further made me want to donate my eggs, which is something I have been thinking about doing for a couple years now. I personally cannot wait to have babies and if I couldn't get pregnant, I would definitely seek a donor. Giving the gift of life will be extremely rewarding for me. Another motivation to quit smoking! I am grateful to have support from others as well as give support because it really is special and another gathering that brings peace to my life!

The Karma Doctor

We recently had a man named Elijah visit from California and share his practices as a metaphysician. A metaphysician specializes in metaphysics (duh!) which is the branch of philosophy  that treats of first principles, include ontology and cosmology and is intimately connected with epistemology. I was able to get a private session, which was really cool. What he does is look up your astrology chart through your birth date and birth time, which can tell a lot about you. He also uses a magnifying glass and studies the lines in your hands, which also have deeper meanings to them. Some people think its a hoax but I am a believer! Without even saying anything he was able to reveal so much about me and give some insight to the complexity of my persona. I know people can say that they generalize and give broad descriptions to be correct, but what he spoke of was exactly what I was going through and really brought some sense of myself to myself! I am not one to talk much about my feelings because I have a very strong character, but I cried even though I barely said anything! He also gave me some sufi beads and gave me two practices which were to chant two different phrases 99 times each. One phrase was "ya fatah" which means opening the way, the other "ya gafoor" which means to have forgiveness. The vibration that runs through my body when doing these creates a huge calmness around my body and I always feel at peace when I do them. Anyways, he is coming again in about a week  and giving a seminar so if you are interested in speaking with him, check out his website at www.karmadoctor.com
